Our customers ask us all the time, “Can you take my IKEA furniture in the moving truck?”
The short answer is yes, but it’s a little more complicated than that.
While you technically can take your IKEA pieces (and other brands of flat-pack, ready-to-assemble furniture), we don’t recommend it. Why? Because this type of furniture is lightweight and not very sturdy, which makes it prone to breaking apart in transit, falling over, and injuring movers or causing damage to other belongings inside the truck.
However, if you’re strongly attached to your flat-pack furniture pieces and don’t want to let them go, you can put them in our truck as long as you disassemble them first.
When you hire Chase Moving and Storage for our moving services, we require you to break down this type of furniture before our arrival. Then, we’ll carefully pack it up and load it onto our truck for safe transportation.
What Other Items Have Restrictions?
