How To Pack Your Car For A Move: 3 Proven Tips

October 28, 2022 by

Moving is an exciting time, but it can also be a stressful one. There are so many things you need to keep track of and do during the move, which makes it hard to remember everything you need. With this article, we will help you stay organized by providing 3 proven tips for packing your car when moving.

1. Pack your car in reverse order

When you’re ready to start packing up your car for your move, it’s important to do so in an efficient and organized manner. That’s why we recommend packing your car in reverse order, starting with the items that you’ll need last.

This way, you can make sure that all of your essentials are easily accessible and won’t be buried under a pile of boxes. To get started, simply begin by loading up your car in the reverse order that you’ll be unloading it at your new home.

Start with any large furniture items or appliances that you’ll need to unload first, then fill in the gaps with smaller boxes and loose items. Once everything is packed up, be sure to secure all of your belongings so they don’t shift during transport.

2. Get rid of as much stuff as possible before you start packing

When you’re getting ready to move, the first step is to get rid of as much stuff as possible. You don’t want to waste time packing things that you don’t need, so start by decluttering your home. Go through all your belongings and decide what you can live without. If you haven’t used something in a year, chances are you don’t need it. Sell, donate, or throw away anything that you don’t absolutely need. This will make packing a lot easier and less time-consuming.

3. Label each box with a marker to designate which room the box belongs to

The third step in our guide is to label each box with a marker to designate which room the box belongs to. This will save you a lot of time and hassle when it comes time to unpack at your new place. Simply write the name of the room on the outside of the box in big, bold letters. For example: “Living Room,” “Bedroom,” “Kitchen,” etc. This will help movers and family members alike know where each box needs to go.

And if you decide to hire professional help, consider calling us at Chase Moving and Storage!
