Restricted Items
For safety and insurance reasons, there are certain items Chase Moving and Storage cannot put on our moving trucks. Although the majority of your belongings will be efficiently packed onto our moving vans with no problem, here’s a list of restricted items that you should be aware of:
- Perishable items
- Plants
- Items that are flammable or combustible
- Solvents
For additional safety measures, we also avoid shipping these specific items:
- Oil-based paints
- Engine oil
- Petroleum
- Cleaning solutions
- Lighting fluids
- Matches
- Ammunition
- Propane tanks
- Oxygen tanks
- Aerosol tanks
Safely Moving Equipment
When it comes to moving machinery, such as lawn mowers, snow blowers, leaf blowers, branch trimmers, and chainsaws, our policy is as follows:
We are able to transport these items with gasoline in the tank, provided the tank is at least 25% full and has the original gas tank cap securely screwed on. It’s okay if there’s oil remaining in the engine, as long as the original dipstick is securely attached.
Moving Your Personal Valuables
It’s also necessary to make alternative shipping arrangements for items that are irreplaceable and/or valuable collectibles. Items not covered by our insurance policies include the following:
- Jewelry
- Currency
- Insurance certificates
- Legal or other important documents
- Collectibles, such as coins, stamps, and baseball cards
